Former members of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church (CFBC), College Park, GA, organized as “The Fellowship Group” and then later, First Baptist Church East Point, to create an environment, which allows its members the freedom to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth, through common bonds of love and peace.
On Sunday, October 20, 2005, God’s plan was revealed as we gathered for our first worship service at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in College Park, GA, followed by our move into the First Baptist Church East Point sanctuary in 2006. Fast forward to 2016, Dr. Emmanuel L. McCall Sr., retired pastor of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and a member of The Fellowship Group, indicated that he would be willing to come out of retirement to serve as interim pastor of First Baptist Church East Point.
Without hesitation, members of the Deacon’s staff spoke with Dr. McCall regarding the matter, and on Sunday, April 23, 2016, after church service, an overwhelming majority of the membership voted for Dr. McCall to become the pastor of First Baptist Church East Point. Without delay, Dr. McCall began to provide spiritual leadership.
Our vision is to become a people characterized by an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, obedience to God’s Word and service in the power of the Spirit to humanity.
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by
• Evangelizing our community
• Equipping Believers with the Word
• Empowering Christians to service
We have opened our doors to the community to share our love and increase our happiness. We’re training daily to share the good news of the gospel so that we can live our faith outside the walls of the church.
Join us at 11 a.m. for a traditional Baptist-style Sunday worship, complimented by a number of diverse, traditional and contemporary musical selections, led by Minister of Music, Rev. Harding Epps Jr. We’d love to become your friend in Christ.
